Liverpool were considering a move for the youngster in the summer.

A report in the Daily Mirror has claimed that Liverpool are still interested in Ipswich Town starlet Andre Dozzell and are weighing up a potential bid for the 17-year-old.

The Mirror reports that the Reds wanted to sign the midfielder during the summer window. But while a report from back in May suggested that they were leading a host of Premier League clubs – including Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham – in the race for his signature (via Mirror), the move did not happen as the youngster remained with the Tractor Boys.

However, this latest update from the Mirror hints that Dozzell – son of former Ipswich and Tottenham star Jason – may now be much more interested in a move away from Portman Road, having struggled for opportunities under Mick McCarthy this season.

And with the Mirror reporting that Liverpool are considering making a £2m offer for the teenager, it will surely be difficult for Dozzell to reject the Merseyside outfit if they do ultimately end up putting such an offer on the table.

Considering that he is not currently playing often for the Championship side, it surely makes sense for Dozzell to make the step up if the opportunity presents itself.

Joining Jurgen Klopp’s men would arguably strengthen the prospect’s chances of realising his potential in the future as he would be surrounded by better players and better facilities.

And there is no reason why he could not still head out on loan to gain the first-team experience that will help him develop further.
