According to The Telegraph, Liverpool have rejected and £11million bid from Napoli for left back Alberto Moreno.

The Reds are expected to make a number of changes to their squad this summer, with Roma winger Mohamed Salah poised to arrive at Anfield to boost Jurgen Klopp’s options.

However, some players will also be leaving Anfield, with left back Alberto Moreno one player whose long-term future on Merseyside could be in doubt.

A 2014 signing from Sevilla in his native Spain, Moreno has failed to live up to expectations at Liverpool and he started just two Premier League games last season.

After giving away a penalty in a disastrous performance against Arsenal on the opening day of last season, Moreno lost his place in Klopp’s starting line up, as he instead chose to play right-footed midfielder James Milner at left back.

Now, The Telegraph report that Liverpool have in fact received a bid for Moreno’s services – but they have rejected Napoli’s first bid, worth £11million.

It’s claimed that Liverpool would want £15million for Moreno’s signature, meaning that Napoli are just £4million away from striking a deal with the 24-year-old.

Napoli do already have Faouzi Ghoulam and Ivan Strinic at left back, but manager Maurizio Sarri seemingly feels that he needs another left back – and with both AC and Inter Milan also keen, they may have to move quickly to land Moreno this summer.
