Sporting Lisbon have been priced out of a move because of Liverpool’s demands.
According to Portuguese outlet Sapo Desporto, Liverpool have priced Sporting Lisbon out of a move for Lazar Markovic.
The winger is expected to leave Anfield this summer after Jurgen Klopp told him to find a new club.
He spent last season out on loan at Fenerbache after a disappointing first season at the club the year before.
He failed to impress during his time in Turkey though and they turned down the option to take him permanently.
One of the clubs reportedly interested in Markovic’s services were Sporting Lisbon, who Record claimed were looking to take him on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
However, that idea has been shot down by Liverpool according to Sapo Desporto’s latest report.
According to them, the Reds will not sanction another loan move and will only entertain a permanent exit for the Serbian international.
That has priced Sporting out of a deal as they could not afford his asking price and his wages all at once.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool can now find an alternative buyer for their man as they seek to move him on this summer.
