Liverpool may be out of the race for Tottenham target Dani Ceballos.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn’t interested in taking Real Madrid playmaker Dani Ceballos on loan – and that may take them out of the race.
Ceballos, 22, was a star with Real Betis, and his performances with the Andalusians earned him a move to Real Madrid in 2017, but he’s struggled for playing time there.
The playmaker needs playing time, especially having impressed so much at the Under-21 European Championships this summer, and a number of clubs are interested in signing him.
Liverpool are one team heavily linked, but Klopp only wants him permanently, whereas Ceballos and Real only want a loan move, with that stance potentially taking the Reds out of the race.
That’s a little frustrating for Liverpool, as one player they could stand to add is a creative attacking midfield player, bringing some flair and guile that has sometimes been missed since Philippe Coutinho’s exit.
Ceballos would have fit the bill, but mostly because of the huge potential he has, and Liverpool taking him on loan wouldn’t really make sense from that perspective.

Sky Sports report that Tottenham Hotspur have held talks about a deal to sign Ceballos, and they appear more willing to accept those loan terms to get a deal done.
Liverpool will hope that, if Ceballos signs for Spurs, he doesn’t come back to haunt the Reds, but with Liverpool showing a major focus on the future with moves for Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott, they appear to be taking the right stance on Ceballos.
