According to Corriere Granata, Liverpool remain interested in signing Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who was also wanted by Everton.

The Italian news outlet states that the Reds are knocking on the Serie A side’s door with ‘some insistence’ regarding the Brazilian.

Corriere Granata add that the Toffees have also previously ‘knocked on the door’ of the Italian club.

The report also states that Jurgen Klopp’s side are pushing the hardest to sign the 23-year-old defender.

So, what type of player is Bremer?

Well, The Athletic published an article detailing the talents of a number of centre-backs linked to Anfield, ranging from Dayot Upamecano to Ben White.

In their analysis of Bremer, The Athletic describe him as a very strong tackler who is among the best in Europe at dispossessing opponents.

However, it is also noted that the Itapitanga-born ball-winner isn’t the best when it comes to aerial duels in open play.

Bremer – who cost Torino €6 million (£5.4 million) also doesn’t excel when attacking set-pieces.

Having said that, the South American has more than enough time on his side at 23 to have his weak points smoothened out by Klopp’s coaching.

With the January transfer window open from tomorrow, Bremer’s future is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
