Leeds United won’t be able to sign Harry Wilson until after the first game of the season, as Liverpool don’t want to face him, the Daily Star suggest.
The Liverpool Echo have said that Leeds have now made contact with Liverpool over signing the £20 million-rated talent.
But with Leeds and Liverpool set to face each other on opening day, the Whites may have to wait before bringing the Welsh international in.
Liverpool don’t want to sell Wilson to Leeds just days before they play, as they could hand an advantage to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Wilson would have inside knowledge on Liverpool’s tactical plans and if he was to make an impact against them, their decision to let him go would come under fire quickly.
Leeds could, therefore, have a nervy wait to find out whether they can get their hands on Wilson.

The 23-year-old would offer them even more threat from wide areas, with his left-foot a real danger.
Wilson proved his ability to score at the top level last season, and he would immediately put pressure of Helder Costa and Jack Harrison for their starting places, if he was to arrive at Elland Road.
