The Liverpool defender reportedly could be on his way to AC Milan.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool are prepared to sell Dejan Lovren to AC Milan, without bringing in a replacement for the Croatian.
The 30-year-old joined the Reds from Southampton in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be worth £20 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to make 170 appearances in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit.
Lovren is now behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and even Joe Gomez in the central defensive pecking order at Liverpool, however, so a move away from Anfield might just be the ideal solution for all parties involved.
In fact, Tutto Mecato Web claims that the Reds are willing to sell Lovren without bringing in a replacement.
The Italian website claims that the 53-capped Croatia international, who earns £100,000 per week at Liverpool according to Spotrac, could leave Merseyside anytime before the deadline for Italian clubs which is September 2nd.
It is suggested that Lovren’s agent is set to meet Milan officials to discuss a potential transfer for his client later today.
TMW claim that Liverpool could sell the centre-back for just €15 million (£13.5 million).
And in today’s market, that would be an absolute steal for the Italian giants.
