According to Sport, Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is waiting for an offer from Barcelona.

It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Wijnaldum wants to play under his former Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

Koeman has just been appointed as the new head coach of Spanish and European giants Barcelona.

The report has added that the former Newcastle United midfielder would be available for €20-25 million (£18.02-£22.53 million), which is affordable for Barca if they are able to sell some of their players.

Liverpool stay

Wijnaldum, who has one year left on his current contract a Liverpool, is an important player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s side.

While Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in the world, they will have to undergo a huge rebuilding now after suffering a very disappointing season in which they lost La Liga to Real Madrid and were hammered by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The 29-year-old midfielder is in a winning team at Liverpool, who clinched the Premier League title last season, and he would be better off playing for the Reds for the foreseeable future.
