Liverpool are reportedly keen on Southampton’s Mario Lemina.

According to L’Equipe, Liverpool are interested in snapping up Southampton ace Mario Lemina this summer as Jurgen Klopp considers more midfield additions.

The Reds already have Naby Keita arriving from RB Leipzig this summer, but Klopp may yet look for another midfielder given that Emre Can looks set to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

A similarly athletic midfielder who can play in front of the back four or as a box-to-box midfielder would be ideal, and it’s now believed that the Reds are looking to Southampton for a new signing – yet again.

L’Equipe claim that Liverpool ‘love’ Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, and could launch a summer move for the Gabon international in a move which would no doubt frustrate the Saints.

Another Southampton raid

Liverpool have made something of a habit of raiding Southampton in recent years, as Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Nathaniel Clyne, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk have all made the move to Anfield since 2014.

Southampton must be sick of the sight of Liverpool by now, and they won’t want to lose Lemina to them either, after some promising displays in the heart of their midfield this season.

Signed from Juventus for £18million last summer (The Guardian), the former Marseille man has only been on the South Coast for a matter of months, but Liverpool are already seemingly planning their move.

As a replacement for Can, 24-year-old Lemina makes sense, and Liverpool may now be preparing yet another big-money bid for a Southampton player this summer.
