Arsenal and Liverpool are planning an ambitious summer swoop for Chelsea starlet Faustino Anjorin, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.

During a season in which many a fresh-faced starlet has featured in the royal blue shirt for the very first time, the teenage forward appears to be on the verge of following Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and co in breaking into Frank Lampard’s first-team plans.

The Dorset-born Anjorin has been a revelation at U23 level in recent months, contributing nine goals and assists in 11 Premier League 2 matches. And he was rewarded for his rapid growth behind the scenes with a top-flight bow in the 4-0 thrashing of Everton in march.

While a jittery Anjorin didn’t exactly showcase the kind of composure displayed by fellow teen sensation Billy Gilmour, smashing a long-range effort miles over the bar against Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit, that late cameo at Stamford Bridge is a reflection of how highly he is regarded by Lampard.

With the academy graduate yet to extend his contract beyond 2021, Chelsea cannot afford to get complacent about the future of an England youth star.

Liverpool and Arsenal are sniffing around, while Manchester City and Norwich have also shown an interest.

Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League leaders raided one West London outfit last summer when they snapped up the sensational Harvey Elliott. Could Liverpool be about to repeat the trick this summer?
