Liverpool are willing to pay £18 million for Thiago Alcantara, according to BILD, but whether that will be enough to bring the midfielder to Anfield remains to be seen.
Liverpool have been linked with Thiago heavily over recent weeks, although the chances of a transfer happening have become more and more unlikely as the weeks have gone by.
However, Liverpool are now said to be willing to make a bid for the Spaniard, although it is well below Bayern’s asking price.
The German side reportedly want £36 million, with Jurgen Klopp’s men only prepared to pay half that fee.
Bayern are believed to be hoping for a quick sale of Thiago, so it may be possible that his price could come down.
The Bundesliga champions want to offload the playmaker before doing any business of their own.
But for Liverpool to get such a discount would be a surprise, as Thiago is such a talented player.
Thiago has made 36 appearances for Bayern across all competitions this season, scoring three times and claiming two assists.
