Is Enzo Fernandez going to Liverpool? Speculation about the Argentina international moving to Anfield has intensified in recent weeks.

The 21-year-old has supposedly agreed to join the Reds following a conversation with Jürgen Klopp, according to Record, one of the largest news outlets in Portugal.

Now, there has been another interesting update regarding the Benfica No.13 and Liverpool.

Is Enzo Fernandez going to Liverpool?

Well, it seems likely.

After allegedly striking an agreement with Fernandez himself, Liverpool are now ready to submit a significant bid to Benfica – according to respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Grand Hotel Calciomercato.

It will require a substantial bid to sign the South American in the middle of the season, especially after he won the Silver Ball – given to the best young player at the World Cup – as Argentina defeated France in the final.

Record believe Benfica do not want to lose their midfield maestro this winter, and will refer interested parties to his €120m (£105m) release clause.

Nevertheless, Di Marzio believe Liverpool are preparing to offer a “monstrous” amount of money to the Portuguese giants, so they may not be put off by that monumental price tag after all.

Fernandez made seven appearances for Argentina in Qatar as he won the World Cup in his first taste of the famous tournament, scoring one goal while also providing one assist.

For Benfica, the Argentine has scored three goals and provided five assists in 24 outings this season.

So, is Enzo Fernandez going to Liverpool? It seems he may just be.

Enzo Fernandez could affect Jude Bellingham move

Amid the intensifying rumours about Fernandez, we can’t help but wonder how a deal for the South American will impact Liverpool’s hopes of signing Jude Bellingham.

Borussia Dortmund are said to want £130m for the England international, and it is currently football’s worst kept secret that Klopp wants him at Anfield.

However, Liverpool do not tend to splash the cash like Manchester City do, and with Fenway Sports Group (FSG) currently looking to sell the Reds, we aren’t sure where the money will come from.

Nevertheless, Liverpool certainly have the pulling power to sign both Fernandez and Bellingham, so be sure to keep an eye on developments.
