Liverpool want £10-£15 million for Joel Matip
The Italian news outlet has claimed that Liverpool want between £10 million and £15 million for the defender.
The 31-year-old centre-back has been on the books of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners since the summer of 2016.
Matip joined Liverpool then on a free transfer after leaving German club Schalke at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
HITC Verdict: Exit likely
In our view, it is very likely that Joel Matip will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
That the Reds have reportedly set a price-tag of £15 million on the 31-year-old suggests that they are really open to selling the player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp described as “incredible” in September 2021 on the club’s official website.
Now, Matip has done well over the years, but there have been a few signings lately that he is past his prime.
There have been injury problems as well.
Now, if Liverpool are able to sell Matip for £15 million given that they paid nothing for him, then it would be a great bit of business for the Reds.
