Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been linked with Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu.

According to CM, Liverpool are interested in signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in the summer transfer window.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Liverpool scouts have watched Dorgu in action several times.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are now reportedly ready to make a move for the 18-year-old Danish left-back.

Patrick Dorgu is one for the future for Liverpool

In our view, Patrick Dorgu is a player for the future for Liverpool and should not be expected to make an impact in the first team right now, if indeed he made the move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.

After all, the Dane is only 18 and has been playing for the Lecce Under-19 side since his switch from Nrodsjelland in 2022.

It would take a while for Dorgu to get to the level needed to play in the first team for Liverpool.

We believe that if Liverpool do sign the Lecce left-back in the summer transfer window, then they are likely to draft him into the youth team for now.

Andy Robertson is the number one left-back at Liverpool at the moment, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

Kostas Tsimikas is the back-up left-back at Liverpool, so the Reds do not actually need to sign an established and experienced player for that position in the summer transfer window.
