The midfielder has been a subject of interest from Italian giants Juventus according to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, with the 23-year-old one of the stars of Germany’s successful Confederations Cup campaign in Russia.
Can has been a valuable player in the Liverpool setup since joining from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £10 million. His ability to play a number of positions has perhaps hindered his growth at Anfield, but he has shown glimpses of brilliance during his 3-year tenure at the club.
Liverpool will be looking to mount a sustainable challenge for the Premier League title this season, and with Jurgen Klopp’s style, numbers in midfield will be integral to the team’s eventual success. With the imminent departure of Lucas Leiva (as reported by Sky Sports), Can’s presence would be even more important for the Merseyside giants.
