According to El Nacional, Jürgen Klopp held talks with Barcelona last summer about a potential move from Liverpool to the Camp Nou.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Barcelona President Joan Laporta is still hopeful of receiving a yes from the Reds boss.
El Nacional claim that Barcelona are searching to replace Ronald Koeman, and would even be willing to wait for Klopp by hiring a short-term option in the meantime.
The German – who earns £133,000-a-week at Liverpool – has three years left on his contract at Anfield, so Barcelona would have to buy him out of that.
It comes amid a miserable time for the Spanish giants, who find themselves seventh in La Liga just months after they lost Lionel Messi.
El Nacional add that Barcelona are also eyeing Erik ten Hag and Thomas Tuchel, in case Klopp turns down their advances.
Jürgen Klopp won’t leave Liverpool

In our view, this simply won’t happen.
Klopp is a very specific manager, who doesn’t just take any job.
The German rejected Manchester United as he felt they were too commercially driven, and lacked the soul he was looking for (Mirror).
Barcelona are operated in a similar way, and have also seen their soul disappear in recent times – Messi’s exit was a big contributor to that.

Klopp also has a contract with Liverpool until 2024, which we fully expect him to carry out – he seems to have a genuine bond with the Reds.
If this happened, it would be one of the most surprising things to occur in football for a long, long time.
