Liverpool were reportedly keen on signing the Napoli ace.
According to a report from Italian publication La Repubblica, Liverpool have informed Mino Raiola that they want to sign his agent Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli in the summer.
The Reds have one of the most dangerous front-lines in world football, but it could be argued that Jürgen Klopp needs one more world-class attacker, in order to provide more competition for his current front three.
And Insigne would be just the ticket.
Italian publication La Repubblica claims that Liverpool are keen to bring the Italian, 27, to Anfield in the summer.
It is suggested that Liverpool offered €70 million (£61.3 million) for the Napoli ace in January – a bid that wasn’t even considered by the club’s chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The Italian media outlet claims that Napoli will not contemplate selling Insigne for anything less than €150 million (£131.4 million), and that surely rules Liverpool out of the running for the Italy international.
He is still under contract with the Naples club until the summer of 2022, so they hold all of the cards, and Liverpool will obviously have to break their transfer record by quite some distance, if they want to sign the attacker in the summer.
