Liverpool could miss out on the Polish midfielder to Napoli.
England’s Hallam Hope in action against Poland’s Piotr Zielinski
Liverpool could be set to miss out on their second midfield transfer target, with Napoli opening talks to sign Piotr Zielinski, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
Liverpool have been heavily linked to the Polish star in recent weeks, with recently pictures showing him wearing a Liverpool kit.
As yet a move had failed to materialise, with his agent even going as far as to suggest that the deal was close to collapsing.
And it now transpires that they could be set to lose out on the midfielder, with Serie A side Napoli having made a move to sign him instead.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of the Polish midfielder and negotiations are continuing over a possible move.
That would come as something of a blow for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have already missed out on another midfield target this summer.
Napoli’s coach Maurizio Sarri is pictured before the match against Bologna.
That is German star Mario Gotze, who has seemingly ruled out a move to Liverpool in favour of staying at Bayern Munich next season.
Of course, those two are not likely to have been the only ones the Reds were targeting and the German boss is likely to have other options in mind.
