According to The Mirror, Liverpool are keeping tabs on the situation of Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, after Leicester failed in a £18m bid for the Frenchman.
The Reds have already added three players to their squad for next season, as goalkeeper Loris Karius, defender Joel Matip and midfielder Marko Grujic will all start their Anfield careers this summer.

Even after those deals, manager Jurgen Klopp will still be looking for further additions, having finished eighth in the Premier League table this past season.
Another central midfielder could be on Klopp’s wish list, and The Mirror report that Liverpool are now keeping tabs on the situation of Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi.

N’Zonzi, 27, became a Premier League star with Stoke City having previously been at Blackburn Rovers, and the 6ft 3in midfielder often dominated games with his athletic ability.
Last summer though, N’Zonzi left England for Sevilla, and he helped the Spanish side beat Liverpool in the Europa League final earlier this month – and he’s now being targeted for a swift return to England.

The Mirror report that Leicester City have had a bid of £18m rejected for N’Zonzi, with Sevilla sticking to their guns that the midfielder has a £21m buy-out clause and won’t be sold for anything less.
However, Leicester’s failed bid has now opened the door to other clubs, and the report claims that Liverpool, as well as Arsenal and Manchester United, are now closely watching the situation with a view to making a move for N’Zonzi this summer.
N’Zonzi would add some power to the Liverpool midfield, and having proven himself in Spain and Europe with Sevilla, he may now be seen as ready for a top Premier League club, given that none of the major English sides attempted to land him a year ago when he left Stoke.
