Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are set for a summer transfer battle for the Brazilian.

Reports emanating from Germany today suggest that the Reds have joined Spurs in the race to sign Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa, according to German media outlet Sport Bild.
The talented Brazilian is one of the finest wide men in world football, and will surely be looking for more regular action next season, whichever club he is playing at.
The 26-year-old has played a peripheral role in Bayern’s Bundesliga campaign thus far, making just 13 league starts for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
And the Mirror claimed last week that Tottenham were interested in taking advantage of his limited game time, and subsequent unhappiness, by making a £30 million move for the speedy winger in the summer.
However, Sport Bild are now suggesting that Mauricio Pochettino will face fierce competition for Costa, in the shape of Jürgen Klopp.
They claim that the German is keen on bringing the 18-capped Brazil international to Anfield, as he looks to add power and pace to his forward line.

Costa would be ideally suited to the manner in which both teams play, but it could be agreed that the Lilywhites are the team most in need of his services.
The acquisition of someone with the Bayern man’s skill set is exactly what Tottenham need to enable them to become more competitive in Europe.
That doesn’t mean to say that Liverpool would not benefit greatly from having Costa at the club, however. He is one of Europe’s best players, and would undoubtedly improve most teams in the world.
And for the £30 million price being quoted, he would be quite the signing for whoever wins the race for his signature this summer.
