Arsenal may have wanted midfielder Lovro Majer for months now but Liverpool are now very keen on the Rennes ace.

The Gunners have been eyeing up Majer for a move to North London for a little while now.

The Mirror reported in September that Arsenal had been scouting Majer for a move to North London.

Arsenal are weighing up their midfield options for the summer window and Majer figures to be on Edu’s wish list.

Majer has bagged one goal and three assists this season but has been in and out of the side with 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances.

There is clearly talent in Majer’s game but at 25, he would surely be needing to start more regularly than he has this season.

Majer has been hailed as ‘extraordinary’ by Juanma Lopez, and it looks like Premier League giants agree despite and up and down season.

Liverpool join Arsenal in race for Lovro Majer

The Daily Mail now report that Arsenal and Liverpool are taking a real interest in signing Majer this summer.

Tottenham are thought to have watched Majer whilst checking on loanee Djed Spence at Rennes.

Arsenal and Liverpool have the strongest interest though and could move for Majer at the end of the season.

It’s suggested that Majer isn’t happy with his in-and-out role at Rennes and is now ready to leave this summer.

A fee of £30million is suggested with Rennes still set to command a fairly hefty fee despite his role.

Liverpool are desperate for midfield additions and may spend on two or three options rather than splashing out on Jude Bellingham.

Majer could be one option and would bring another technical midfielder, more in the mould of a Thiago Alcantara than Bellingham.
