Liverpool have been linked with a summer swoop for the experienced goalkeeper.
According to German newspaper Bild, Liverpool are interested in signing Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz this summer, as Jurgen Klopp seeks to make the signings that can ensure the Reds challenge both domestically and in Europe next season.
As reported by the Mirror back in March 2016, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had his eye on the Swiss stopper soon after his arrival at Anfield.

No move materialised, but questions remain regarding the quality of ‘keepers currently available to Liverpool despite the recent resurgence of Simon Mignolet, and with his contract having just 12 months to run, Hitz could be a cut-price option.
Bild claims Augsburg are willing to cash in on Hitz now rather than lose him for nothing in 12 months, with Liverpool and Schalke said to be watching the situation closely.
Hitz has featured 124 times for Augsburg in total, keeping 38 clean sheets in the process, and he previously turned out for Wolfsburg and for St. Gallen back in Switzerland.

At 29, the twice-capped international would offer more experience to the goalkeeping department at Anfield but he will not want to move to England only to warm the bench.
Klopp may be happy with his current options, however if he wants to move a year after the initial links it appears Augsburg are ready to do business.
