The Brazilian defender is the latest to be linked with a potential move to Liverpool this summer.

According to a report from Mercato 365, Liverpool have turned their attention to Nice player Dalbert in their ongoing attempts to sign a new left-back this summer.

The 23-year-old is said to be rated £26million by his current club, and Inter Milan are allegedly keen to tie up a deal this summer. However Liverpool are now believed to have entered the race and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp knows exactly how much it will take to steal a march on the Serie A side.

Nice left back Dalbert

Dalbert featured 38 times for Nice last season, providing four assists in the process, and his ability to play both as a left-back and as a left winger marks him out as a sensible target for Liverpool.

The problem is, as much as Klopp needs a new left-back given his over reliance on an out-of-position James Milner last season, the Brazilian’s hefty price tag could put off plenty of suitors.

Liverpool have the money and they will be looking to add to recent addition Mohamed Salah sooner rather than later, yet with Inter lurking, this is one deal Klopp may have to sanction early or step away from all together.

The Reds boss will understand the importance of having strength in depth with his side back in the Champions League next season and competing on four fronts.

In his second full season at the helm, the Liverpool boss will be targeting silverware, and he needs players in their rightful positions, with Dalbert young enough to represent an impressive long-term solution if he does ultimately arrive at Anfield.
