Liverpool have incredibly suffered another injury scare ahead of their game against Leicester City, the Daily Mail report.

Rhys Williams was sent home from England under-21 duty, after experiencing pain in his hip.

While the Liverpool defender’s problem is not a serious one, he may now be a doubt to feature on Sunday.

“He had a very minor stiff hip,” England under-21 boss Aidy Boothroyd said. “It was in his best interests to get him back to Liverpool.”

Williams’s problem is the latest in a long list of injury issues that Liverpool players are suffering with.

The Reds have been remarkably unfortunate in recent weeks, with numerous players now sidelined.

The entirety of Liverpool’s first choice back-four could be unavailable at the weekend, while Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to be out.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now really down to the bare bones, and their fixture list has not been kind to them.

Liverpool take on top of the table Leicester City next, and getting the three points with so many players unavailable will be a huge challenge.
