Liverpool are interested in signing Jack Butland from Stoke City before the summer transfer window in England closes this month, according to The Mirror.
It has been reported that Butland has fallen down the pecking order at Stoke and has not played since featuring for the Potters in their 5-0 defeat to Leeds United in the Championship back in July.
The 27-year-old is ‘desperate’ to leave the Championship club this summer, with Liverpool in talks with the Potters, according to the report.
First-choice goalkeeper Alisson is out for six weeks, according to the report, while Adrian has made mistakes at times, like he did against Aston Villa.
Should Jack Butland consider Liverpool move?
Of course, leaving Stoke for Liverpool is a huge step-up, but once Alisson is back to full fitness, Butland, if he moves to Anfield, will become a back-up.
Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and the Brazil international will always play when he is fit and available, especially in the Premier League and the Champions League.
If Butland wants to play regular first-team football and return to the England squad, then a move to Liverpool may not be the best decision.
