Liverpool talent Rafael Camacho may be on his way to Schalke.

According to Kicker in Germany, Schalke are in talks with Liverpool about a deal to sign youngster Rafael Camacho this summer.

Camacho, 19, joined Liverpool from Manchester City in 2016, and whilst he arrived as a winger, he’s been converted into a full back by Jurgen Klopp.

The Portuguese teenager made his first-team debut against Wolves in the FA Cup in January, but he now looks set to leave Anfield this summer.

Camacho has just one year left on his contract, and with first-team football a target, talks are underway about a deal to join David Wagner’s Schalke.

It’s noted that Camacho may be converted back into a winger if he makes the move to Gelsenkirchen, but his potential move may just impact Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny.

Kenny joined Schalke on loan last week, with Everton hoping that the right back would earn valuable playing time with the Bundesliga giants in order to aid his development.

By adding another right back into the mix in Camacho, Kenny’s playing time may be impacted. After all, Kenny would only be on loan, and Camacho would be a long-term option for Schalke.

Everton would therefore hope that Camacho does revert to being a winger if he joins Schalke, as they’d hate to see a former Liverpool man stifling the development of a Toffees talent.
