According to the Press Association, Liverpool are in talks with Burnley over a deal to sell winger Harry Wilson.

It’s claimed that a fee hasn’t yet been agreed, but there is confidence that Wilson will be heading to Turf Moor very soon.

The report doesn’t state how much Burnley will be paying, but he is now expected to join Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Dale Stephens in a double swoop for the Clarets.

Liverpool snapped up Diogo Jota last weekend to bolster their attacking options, which effectively ended Wilson’s hopes of playing time.

He has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Derby County and Bournemouth, smashing 17 goals and six assists at Derby and then seven goals and two assists last term.

The Welshman is now 23 and needs to be playing regularly, which is why a departure ultimately makes the most sense.

Dangerous on his left foot, Wilson can help fill in for the injured Johann Berg Gudmundsson, whilst also enabling Dwight McNeil to continue playing as number 10 if Sean Dyche goes that way.

The money will also help balance the Liverpool books, and possibly bring in some cash for Jurgen Klopp to make one more addition before next month’s deadline.
