According to the Irish Examiner, Liverpool are now pushing for goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to sign a new deal at Anfield.
It’s claimed that Anfield chiefs have made Kelleher’s contract a top priority given that he only has 17 months left on his deal.
Liverpool don’t want to see Kelleher enter the final year of his deal, and certainly won’t want him to enter next January without a new deal, as he would be able to sign a pre-contract elsewhere.
The 22-year-old has really kicked on this season, supplanting Adrian as second-choice goalkeeper whilst making five appearances in all competitions.
Beating out Alisson to become number one seems unlikely any time soon, but Jurgen Klopp is clearly a big fan of him.
Klopp branded Kelleher ‘sensational’ back in December, noting that he has convinced everybody with his quality this season.

Kelleher will be 23 come November, so Liverpool are now keen to show a real sign of faith in the former Ringmahon Rangers talent.
Talks are underway with Kelleher, and it would be a surprise to see him move on any time soon given that Adrian will be leaving for free this summer.
