According to Calciomercato, AC Milan and Inter Milan both want to rival Liverpool for the signature of Ajax defender Perr Schuurs.

It’s claimed that the two Italian sides are keen on signing Schuurs, either in January or at the end of the season.

Inter allegedly have Schuurs at the top of their list as they pursue a new centre back, whilst Milan want to add a couple of centre backs.

Ajax don’t intend to sell at the moment, but with Schuurs approaching the final 18 months of his deal, they could be under pressure to sell before he walks away.

The report adds that Liverpool have a ‘strong interest’ in Schuurs, and he is currently valued at around €30million (£27million).

Liverpool took Schuurs on trial from Fortuna Sittard in 2018, meaning he has been on their radar for some time now.

The Reds clearly need another centre back, as Joe Gomez’s knee injury has compiled the misery following Virgil van Dijk’s season-ending blow.

Schuurs, 20, has featured against Liverpool in the Champions League, and the Reds may face a huge battle if they want to lure the Dutchman to Anfield in 2021.
