Liverpool could have Alisson, Sadio Mane and Fabinho all back for Sunday, according to the latest reports about their injury issue.

The Liverpool trio all missed last night’s game and the impact of that was sorely felt by Jurgen Klopp’s side, who sunk to a 1-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool fans are now sweating on the fitness of their key players ahead of their crunch tie against Manchester City this weekend.

But The Athletic say that the Reds are hopeful that Alisson’s illness will not be a serious one and by the time the weekend rolls around the Brazilian will be fine.

Goal also says that Liverpool are also hopeful that Mane and Fabinho could return, which Klopp hinted at after the match.

It should be noted though, that in the same update, Goal says that Jota will still be out for another two weeks.

Jota has been out for a considerable amount of time, but picture of his return to training and raised hopes that his comeback could be imminent.

However, it seems that Liverpool are set to have to do without their summer signing for a while yet.

If Liverpool do fail to beat City this weekend their hopes of retaining the title could already be over, as that would mean that they would fall 10 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side, having played a game more.
