Liverpool are hoping that Thiago will be fit to play after the international break, the Daily Mail report.

Thiago has missed weeks worth of action at Liverpool now, following an injury he picked up in a match against Everton.

The Spaniard was the victim of a fierce tackle from Richarlison, and he just hasn’t been able to make it off the treatment table since.

However, in a major boost, the Mail suggest that Liverpool shouldn’t be waiting too much longer for Thiago to find fitness.

The summer signing is expected to return to training soon and then could be fit to feature after the international break.

If Thiago does recover then his comeback could hardly be more timely.

Liverpool are suffering badly with injury at the moment, with Trent Alexander-Arnold the latest player to be sidelined for a month.

Thiago’s return would at least increase Klopp’s options in midfield in future weeks, and should allow Liverpool to control games more.

Thiago is yet to really be able to show what he can do since arriving at Anfield, as injuries have halted his progress, but the club will be hoping that he can avoid any further problems when he does come back to full health.

Liverpool’s first game after the international break comes against current league leaders Leicester City.
