Liverpool have finally been handed some positive injury news by The Times, with Fabinho now getting closer to coming back into contention.

The Reds have suffered problem after problem this season, with Jordan Henderson the latest player to be sidelined.

Henderson is set to miss the next few weeks’ worth of action, after picking up a problem during Liverpool’s clash with Everton at the weekend.

But there was some good news in the latest update, as Fabinho’s return should not be too far away.

The Brazilian has apparently ‘stepped up’ his recovery – with Liverpool hopeful he will not be sidelined for too much longer.

The Times say that it hasn’t yet been decided whether Fabinho will make it back in time to feature for Liverpool against Sheffield United next weekend.

However, the possibility of Fabinho playing has not been ruled out, in what looks a major boost for Klopp’s men.

If Fabinho is fit he will surely play in central defence, given Liverpool’s issues there.

Fabinho has arguably been the Reds’ best defender this season, and with Henderson out, they may look to add his experience back into what is becoming and increasingly makeshift defence.
