
Liverpool are said to be fighting a number of clubs, including Manchester City, for Schalke striker Matthew Hoppe, 90 Minutes report.
Liverpool’s scouts are said to have been placed in the Bundesliga recently and they have apparently been ‘hugely impressed’ by what they have seen from Hoppe.
The 19-year-old has blasted in five goals in eight games for Schalke to raise eye brows.
Liverpool, City and Tottenham Hotspur are now all believed to be keen on the forward, who is emerging as one of the top, young talents in Germany.
Liverpool do have a connection with Schalke, as they only recently signed Ozan Kabak from the cash-strapped Germany club.
However, fighting City for him could be difficult – as Pep Guardiola’s side undoubtedly have big pulling power, and may well end the season as Premier League champions.

Both Liverpool and City are expected to freshen up their attacks in the summer.
