In that time, he has won two Champions Leagues, nine Bundesliga titles and one FIFA Club World Cup crown.
He has also been named Austria’s Footballer of the Year on six occasions, according to Transfermarkt.
It would potentially be a blow to emerging youngsters such as Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips to see Alaba arrive.
However, Klopp simply can’t turn a blind eye to the potential availability of such a world-class player.
