Liverpool’s potential move for Thiago Alcantara will be more likely if Georginio Wijnaldum leaves, according to The Times.
Wijnaldum has just a year left on his contract at Liverpool, and is yet to pen new terms.
While the Times insists that there is not yet any indication that he will depart Anfield this summer, it is suggested that if the £25 million Dutchman (BBC Sport) does make an exit, then Thiago could be his replacement.
Liverpool have been linked heavily with the Spaniard, who is currently at Bayern Munich, for much of the summer so far.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are reportedly very happy with their current squad, and additions may only be purchased if players leave.
Bild claim that Thiago would cost £27 million, with Bleacher Report suggesting that he wants a move to Anfield.

Thiago may not get his wish this summer though, with Liverpool’s transfer plans as they are.
It seems that Liverpool could wait 12 months and sign him on a free transfer, if he allows his contract to expire.
But as things stand, Thiago could have to hope that Wijnaldum does leave Anfield, otherwise the chances of him signing look slim.
