Diogo Jota returns to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight – and news has emerged about Liverpool’s payment obligations.
Jota is only just back in action having picked up a knee injury in the Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland back in December.
He makes his first return to Molineux tonight, and will be hoping to fire the Reds to a victory against his former club.
Ahead of the game, The Telegraph report that Liverpool will have to pay £12million of Jota’s fee at the end of the season.
Wolves agreed to sell Jota in a deal worth up to £45million, which saw Liverpool pay only £4million up front and another £1million in December.
A much bigger chunk of cash is heading to Wolves this summer, taking Liverpool’s outlay to £18million; there’s still a massive £27million to go if all variables are met!

At this point though, Liverpool won’t begrudge paying up, with Jota smashing nine goals in 20 appearances for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp is clearly a huge fan, branding him ‘really important’ just a couple of days ago having been one of the more exciting parts of a disappointing Liverpool season.
