Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Lyon teenager Rayan Cherki, with the attacker’s future with the French club in doubt.
According to L’Equipe via AS, the Reds are one of multiple clubs interested in signing the 18-year-old forward. As per the report, Cherki’s future with Lyon is on the rocks, with the youngster hardly featuring under Peter Bosz this campaign.
Despite his huge reputation, with C-News labelling Cherki as ‘the best talent’ Lyon have ever produced, the versatile attacker has only played just over 600 minutes of football this campaign, with the youngster starting just two Ligue 1 games.
As per the report, his situation has alerted Liverpool, with the likes of Manchester United, OGC Nice and Real Madrid also keeping tabs on Cherki, who could now be on the move this year unless there is a change in management at Lyon.
Despite being just 18, Cherki has played an important role in the Lyon first team for the past three seasons. The forward was one of the youngest players to ever play for the club before the French youth international became the youngest goalscorer in the club’s history in 2020.
Indeed, with Cherki’s relationship with Lyon now looking frosty, there is a chance in the market for a club like Liverpool or United to swoop for the teenager and land a player who could develop into one of the best in world football later down the line.
Liverpool must go all out to sign Cherki from Lyon

Liverpool are no strangers to signing young players, yet an opportunity as good as this rarely reveals itself. And for the Reds, they simply have to go all out to sign Cherki with the likes of Madrid and United also sniffing around.
With the teenager hailed as the best talent a club as big as Lyon has ever produced, Liverpool will be fools to not try and sign Cherki with the player questioning his future at the club.
