According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are eyeing PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen and are admirers of the Dutchman, as are AC Milan.
The 6-cap Netherlands international would not find himself in unfamiliar territory if he did move to England.
Malen spent two years in Arsenal’s Hale End academy from 2015 to 2017, before moving to the Netherlands.
The 22-year-old didn’t make a first-team appearance for the Gunners.
However, Liverpool’s interest comes as no surprise, given his form since joining PSV Eindhoven.
Over in the Netherlands, Malen has scored a remarkable 50 goals in 107 appearances, while also assisting 22 more.

He has actually scored 83 goals across his career, if you were to include his strikes for Arsenal, Ajax and PSV’s youth teams.
So, for those Liverpool fans who don’t know much about Malen, you might be wondering what type of player he is.
Well, he was once compared to Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez by his Under-14 coach at Ajax, Brian Tevreden.
FourFourTwo quote the former Ajax Under-14 coach as saying: “It’s hard to describe him. If I have to compare him with a player in the Premier League, he seems a bit like Alexis Sanchez.”

Having netted 17 goals last season, Malen is showing vast signs of improvement in his game this term.
He has already bettered that tally with 22 goals in all competitions, while also assisting eight more in 36 appearances.
In our view, this would be an excellent signing for Liverpool.
