Turkish outlet Fanatik claim Liverpool are interested in signing Getafe striker Enes Unal as a replacement for Divock Origi. The Turkey striker left Manchester City in 2017, joining Villarreal for £12million (Guardian).
Unal, 24, is shining in Spanish football – after leaving Villarreal twice during his three-year stint including a two-year loan at Valladolid. He only played 31 times for Villarreal, and is now at Getafe – where he is impressing.
Only five goals came his way last season, but this time around, he has 15 in 32 La Liga games. Such form has attracted the attention of Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, who are in for a back-up striker with Origi leaving on a free.
While Getafe are currently safe from relegation, they are only five points above the drop zone. Even if they do remain in the top tier, Unal is likely to be tempted with a move to Anfield – even if they are rivals with City now.

While he has been somewhat inconsistent in the past, Unal has shown this season that given the right style of play and the confidence in him that he is the number one striker – he can score. He is second in La Liga rankings.
Only Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema sits ahead of the Turkey ace. It is a tricky act trying to find a replacement for a player in Origi, that only gets the odd sub appearance and a cup start.
The Belgian has only been afforded 17 appearances this season, culminating in less than 600 minutes of football – compared to Unal, who has had almost four times that. But Liverpool is a tempting prospect.
