Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool do not think that they will be able to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.
The report has claimed that Liverpool have identified Benfica midfielder Fernandez as a potential alternative to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have been monitoring the Benfica midfielder this season and have sent scouts to him in action.
The 21-year-old has a release clause of €120 million (£103 million) in his contract at Benfica, according to GiveMeSport, who have added that Liverpool feel that they will not be able to sign him just yet.
After all, the Argentina international midfielder, who is playing at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, joined Benfica from River Plate only in the summer of 2022.

Could Liverpool sign Enzo Fernandez?
In our view, if Liverpool want to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, then they have to trigger clause and pay the £103 million needed.
It is as simple as that.
If the Reds are willing to pay £103 million, then Benfica simply cannot do anything.
Now, of course, Liverpool have to come to an agreement with Fernandez, but you would think that the youngster would jump at the chance to leave Benfica for the Premier League giants.
