Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claim Liverpool could still throw their hat into the ring to sign Juventus star Adrien Rabiot in the summer, on a free transfer – while Tottenham and Arsenal are said to be at the front of the queue.
Rabiot, 27, remains out of contract at the end of the season. The 35-time France star has arguably been Juventus’ best player this season, proving as much in last week’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina – scoring the only goal, his sixth this season.
The Frenchman was a crucial part of France’s run to the World Cup final, too. But with Juve having points deducted, the ex-PSG man is expected to leave in the summer. Especially, with Juve unlikely to qualify for European football this term.
Rabiot is earning a wage of around £120,000 a week at Juventus (GDS) but will want more than that, given he is a free agent. The report claims that Liverpool could enter the race to sign him – but Spurs and Arsenal are the front runners.

Liverpool could throw hat into ring to sign Juventus star Rabiot on a free
A player that Patrick Vieira once said is becoming one of the best players in his position, Rabiot is likely to be the most high-profile free agent on the market this summer. He will command a free transfer to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Given his wage demands, who can realistically afford Rabiot? Probably, only Premier League clubs or, his old side PSG. It is unclear if PSG are interested but certainly, the chances are that a move to England’s top tier is more than likely.
Who needs him most? Thomas Partey’s absence has highlighted a hole in Arsenal’s side, but Jorginho has since come in. Tottenham will be without Rodrigo Bentancur to perhaps, September or October. Liverpool need a midfielder, badly.
