According to Sky Germany, Liverpool could replicate the terms of their Naby Keita deal to sign Karim Adeyemi in January.

What’s the story?

Well, transfer expert Max Bielefeld believes the £26m RB Salzburg forward could leave in January, on one condition.

As Liverpool did when signing Keita from RB Leipzig, Sky Germany believe Adeyemi could be signed in January, as long as he is loaned back.

Jürgen Klopp signed Keita for £52.75m in 2017, but allowed him to spend another season on loan in the Bundesliga before moving to Anfield.

It seems a similar approach would be required if the Reds are to beat Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to Adeyemi’s signature.

The 19-year-old has become one of the hottest properties in Europe after scoring 14 goals in 18 games so far this season.

At the moment, it seems as if Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund have a better chance of signing the teenager than Liverpool do.

Sky Germany add that the 3-cap Germany international held talks with Bayern Munich recently, and has also scheduled a meeting with Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool haven’t had an opportunity to speak to Adeyemi themselves, as far as we know, so they can consider themselves behind the Bundesliga duo in this race.

However, if the wonderkid fancies a move to England, then Liverpool and Klopp would surely be the most attractive option for him, in our view.

Keep an eye on this saga, as despite the aforementioned talks, Adeyemi hasn’t yet made a decision on his future.
