According to the Mirror, Liverpool could be set to receive some handy bonuses as part of the deal which took Ben Davies to Sheffield United.
What’s the story?
Well, while many were baffled by this signing, it already looks to be paying off.
Liverpool spent just £500,000 to sign the 26-year-old from Preston back in January, amidst an injury crisis in defence.
However, the move confused many as Davies never played a single second of first-team football under Jürgen Klopp.
Now, we are starting to see why the Reds signed him.
Davies has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan with the Blades paying a £500,000 fee, so the Reds have already made their money back.
However, there’s also a way Liverpool can double their initial outlay.
Liverpool will be hoping Sheffield United succeed

If Slavisa Jokanovic’s side win promotion back to the Premier League, Liverpool will receive another £500,000.
In that respect, a £500,000 signing might end up earning Liverpool £1m without even kicking a ball for them.
Things could get better yet.

The Mirror understand Liverpool haven’t included an option-to-buy in the loan deal, so a bidding war could commence if Davies does well.
So, ultimately, Michael Edwards could end up selling the £500,000 centre-back for millions – it was a very opportunist signing, to say the least.
Liverpool might not be selling the likes of Dominic Solanke for £19m anymore, but the Davies deal proves Edwards still has some magic.
