Liverpool have been tracking the Ajax winger for quite some time, according to reports.

It seems as though Liverpool will have somewhat of a problem if they want to sign Ajax ace David Neres this summer, with Spanish publication AS claiming that Atletico Madrid have now entered the race for the Brazilian’s signature.

French publication Le 10 Sport reported earlier this month that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield this summer, whilst the Daily Mail reckons he will be available for around £45 million.

Neres has been in outstanding form for Ajax this season, racking up 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions, and he would undoubtedly help take Liverpool to another level, if Klopp manages to beat Diego Simeone to his signature.

The Brazilian will surely go on to become one of the games best players, so £45 million should represent decent money for whichever club wins the race for his signature.

Liverpool is a big draw for any player, but Atleti’s reported interest in Neres will only complicate matters for the Merseyside outfit.

AS claims that Diego Simeone is a big fan of the 22-year-old, and much will surely depend on which club offers more money.

And Liverpool should be able to blow the La Liga side out of the water in that aspect.
