Liverpool will most likely be beaten by Arsenal in the race for the Lille star.

According to a report from the Times, Liverpool contacted the agent of Lille ace Nicolas Pepe in a bid to sign the Ivorian, but they are likely to miss out to Arsenal in the race for the winger’s signature.
The 24-year-old was on fire for Lille last season, racking up 23 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions, and he will undoubtedly be an excellent addition for whichever club ends up signing him.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp seems to be content with his options at Anfield, although it could be argued that they need another top class attacker, in order to keep Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino on their toes.
And Pepe would have been ideal for the Reds.

The Times claims that the Ivory Coast international is heading to Arsenal, however, in spite of the fact that Liverpool made a late play to sign the winger by contacting his agent.
And Klopp will be hoping that he doesn’t live to regret being unable to bring Pepe to Liverpool this summer.
