According to Radio Itatiaia, Liverpool have made contact with the entourage of Torino defender Gleison Bremer.
What’s the story?
Well, the 24-year-old’s performances in Italy have been making headlines, and Liverpool aren’t the only ones interested.
The Italian news outlet believe Inter Milan and AC Milan are also keen on Bremer, who is valued at €15m (£12.6m).
Radio Itatiaia even state that the Brazilian is considered to be one of the best in Italy, a division renowned for the quality of its defenders.
Liverpool are said to have contacted the centre-back’s agent to enquire about the likelihood of a move in the summer.
Clearly, Jürgen Klopp and Michael Edwards aren’t looking to sign Bremer in the January window.
The South American’s contract expires in June 2023, so if Torino do not sell him this summer, they risk losing him for nothing.
Why do Liverpool want Bremer?

You may be asking yourself the above question, as Klopp currently has five quality options at centre-back.
The Reds have Virgil van Dijk and Joël Matip, as well as Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Nat Phillips.
In that respect, it would be foolish to sign another, although in our view, Klopp could just be identifying potential replacements for Gomez.
Yesterday, 90min revealed that the 24-year-old is concerned about his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 World Cup.

Gomez has played just 13 minutes of Premier League football this season due to the competition ahead of him, and 90min believe he could look for a new club if his situation does not change.
That would be a real blow for Liverpool, as the ex-Charlton man is a fantastic player.
However, if he does force an exit from Anfield, Klopp could swiftly replace him with Bremer after contact was made with his representatives.
