Liverpool are being linked with a big move for Napoli’s Jorginho.

Jorginho of SSC Napoli line up before the UEFA Champions League group F match between SSC Napoli and Manchester City at Stadio San Paolo on November 1, 2017 in Naples, Italy.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool are confident of securing the signature of Napoli midfielder Jorginho ahead of bitter rivals Manchester United this summer.

Jorginho, 26, made his name in Italy with Verona before earning a 2014 move to Napoli, and he has been developing year-by-year at the Stadio San Paolo.

The Brazilian-born Italy international, who now has three caps to his name, has notched two goals and four assists for Napoli this season, making 26 league appearances in the process.

Jorginho is now a wanted man, with Arsenal and Manchester United now keen on signing him, but it’s claimed that Liverpool are confident they will beat their rivals to his signature in a £50million swoop this summer.

Emre Can’s replacement?

Liverpool do already have one new midfielder in the bag for next season, given that Naby Keita will finally join up with the Reds having agreed a move from RB Leipzig in August 2017, but another midfielder may still be needed.

German international Emre Can is out of contract this summer and looks set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, having so far refused any attempts to tie him down to a new deal at Anfield.

Can may divide opinion amongst Liverpool fans, but he will certainly need replacing this summer, and Jorginho may well fit the bill, even if he comes with a huge price tag given his importance to Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli side.

A superb passer of the ball and capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder or from a deeper position, Jorginho would bring some flexibility to Klopp’s midfield, and would give the Reds a major transfer win over bitter rivals United.
