According to The Athletic, Liverpool have completed the signing of Stefan Bajcetic from Celta Vigo for £224,000.
The Reds beat arch-rivals Manchester United to the teenage wonderkid’s signature, which will presumably put a smile on the Anfield faithful’s faces.
The Athletic state that Liverpool have been scouting Bajcetic since late 2019, and were able to convince him to choose them over the Red Devils.
It is said that the Merseysiders worked hard to convince the youngster, as well as his family, agent and Celta Vigo that Anfield was a better fit than Old Trafford.
If you’re wondering what type of player Bajcetic is, then The Athletic also go into detail on that.

They write that the teenager is a centre-back who impressed Liverpool’s scouts, so much so that he was tracked by the club’s representatives in both England and Spain.
Additionally, The Athletic reveal that Jurgen Klopp’s side were impressed with his character off the pitch.
Liverpool feel that this will help him adapt to life in the academy with relative ease.

Academy director Alex Inglethorpe, assistant academy director Nick Marshall and Under-23 coach Barry Lewtas were all involved in discussions.
The Athletic state that the trio’s involvement in the deal was ‘key’ in getting Bajcetic to put pen to paper.
