Liverpool and Manchester City have been battling each other for trophies in recent years, and they could now battle for a new signing.

The Reds were on course to prise the Premier League title out of City’s hands before the global pandemic halted the season, and the rivalry between the two sides has been fascinating in recent times.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have both brought great football to the Premier League, and they’re now looking to bring a teenage star to England too.

The Mirror claim that Liverpool and Manchester City both want to sign Mechelen teenager Aster Vranckx, challenging Bayern Munich and Feyenoord for his signature.

Both Liverpool and City have allegedly watched Vranckx on three separate occasions before the pandemic, and now want to sign him for just £1.5million.

A talented central midfield player, the 17-year-old has notched one goal and two assists in nine games for Mechelen this season, and is already a wanted man.

The report also notes that Liverpool have altered their transfer plans, as they will instead be focusing on signing talented wonderkids – just like Vranckx.

Vasco da Gama forward Talles Magno is another top target for Liverpool, with two teenagers seemingly wanted at Anfield rather than big-name additions.
