Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may not benefit by switching Arsenal for Liverpool.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a mixed spell at Arsenal over the past five years, struggling to nail down a regular starting spot.
This has partly been down to a succession of injuries, and conflict from a football perspective as to which his best position is, and heavy competition.

He has been strongly linked with a transfer to Liverpool through 2017, but The Mail report Reds manager Jurgen Klopp cannot guarantee him a guaranteed starting place either.
This in itself could cause Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay put, if he deems a move to the Reds a sideways step from a personal perspective.
In terms of on pitch opportunity, Liverpool have Champions League football unlike Arsenal, turning the tables on previous seasons.
England’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Signing the England international from Arsenal was always going to be tough for Liverpool, but one way they could really have swayed it was by offering him the promise of a starting berth.
Realistically however it is tough for them to do so, with creative players Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana all competing for positions.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s best chance could be in a central midfield role, but it remains to be seen if Jurgen Klopp sees him as a possibility there, and unable to offer a promise which could tempt him, we may never find out.
